How Stake settles horse-racing bets
Stake’s supplied racing policy says settlement follows the official final result declared by the relevant racing authority on the day. Later disqualifications normally do not change settlement after that declaration.
Dead heats, scratchings and abandoned meetings
- Dead heat: the expected payout is divided by the number of runners involved.
- Scratched runner: a single is refunded; an affected parlay selection is normally voided at odds of 1.00.
- Abandoned or transferred meeting: bets are generally void when the meeting moves to another track, subject to futures and postponement provisions.
- Errors or late acceptance: Stake reserves rights to void affected bets under the stated conditions.
Win, place, each-way and exotic bets
Observed markets include fixed-odds and starting-price win/place bets, each-way bets and exotics such as Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First Four. An each-way bet contains equal win and place stakes, so a displayed $10 each-way stake costs $20.
Maximum exotic payout
The supplied policy records a maximum exotic-bet payout of $100,000 USD per account on one race. This is not a universal maximum for every Stake product and must be rechecked in the current policy.
The supplied rules also state that horse-racing bets have no cash-out.
