Quarter-goal Asian handicaps split one stake equally across two neighboring lines. This creates half-win and half-loss outcomes that do not exist in standard 1X2 betting.
How -1.25 works
A -1.25 selection is half the stake at -1.0 and half at -1.5. A one-goal win produces one push and one loss: a half-loss. A win by two or more goals wins both halves.
How +0.25 works
A +0.25 selection is half at 0.0 and half at +0.5. A draw pushes the first half and wins the second: a half-win.
Line and price must be compared together
A -1.25 line is not automatically better value than -1.5. The odds attached to each line determine the price of the additional protection.
